Games Captain Report

March 7, 2012 (0 comments)

At our first meeting of the new board, the position of Games Captain was reactivated. This year we will start to use the new Stroke Equity rules adopted by the CGA. Some of our handicaps will increase so the Games Captain will be working closely with the Handicap committee to make the transition, yet still maintain the competitive spirit of our club. We will probably have to change the way we make handicap allowances not only when we compete in field days but also for our weekly Nassau games.

The Games Captain committee has also been looking at ways to increase field day participation in spite of these changes. Here are a few of the many suggestions that we are looking at. Member / Member days, field days where you would compete within flights; and a cumulated hole in one jackpot for all field day participants. We welcome any of your suggestions as to how we can make our field days more interesting and most importantly of all fun. Suffice to say that the 2012 season will be loaded with positive changes. It is our goal to get our field days back to where we were 10 years ago when we always had a waiting list.

Gary Crowe,
Games Captain
